A Right to be…

I believe that Everyone has a right to exist in a happy, healthy environment. If that is our desire, we should be helped towards that goal. I also have a belief that Everyone deserves a second chance – if we can forgive ourselves from past mistakes and misdemeanours it will allow us the freedom to move forward without the shackles of those errors. We never forget, we adapt, we learn from those mistakes not to make them again. That self forgiveness should also give us the strength to forgive, and allow others that same freedom and strength.

It is also paramount that people with health conditions have a primary right to enjoy that happy and healthy environment, and that any help and support they require in gaining a life of wellness should be afforded by all.

No one should suffer from bullying, injustice or unfairness. The right to live in a healthy, stress-free environment should be important to us all.

Not everyone wants this support. There are those who take longer to learn from past errors, those who feel strong enough to make it on their own. We are each our own person, our own strengths and dreams. But that right to be happy should remain, and with it the offer of help and support because one day we may need it, even just to get through a particular period, even just the day.

Your Life, Be Happy…

A quick introduction…

Good Morning!

Just a quick word on what HunkyDory is about.

Well, the world has changed a lot in the last several years, and as life is moving more quickly we have to be careful of the problems that may bring, physically as well as mentally and emotionally.
Modern life can bring about its own pressures and anxieties, so it is more important than ever to stay grounded, to slow things down, reflect on what’s important and make sure that we are pointed in the right direction.

At HunkyDory that’s what we aim for. Somewhere you can check in confidentially, reflect on a range of topics using simple questions and journaling and, if you want, to set direction using goals and habits.

Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?
Charles Bukowski

So, here we are – at the beginning. “But the beginning of what?” you’re probably wondering. What’s this journey all about?
Now I know this might sound a bit over the top, but just go with it – this journey might just be the most important one of your life. It’s the journey to self-understanding. The Ancient Greeks thought it was so important that they inscribed these words atop their most famous temple of Apollo at Delphi: Know Thyself.
Which bring us back to the question posed by Mr. Bukowski above. Who were you,? The younger you, before family members and teachers told you what you should do or how to act? Before television and social media gave you a stream of people to compare yourself to? Before you were swamped with adverts showing and telling you what you needed or how you should look? Picking up other people’s perspectives, ideals and beliefs?
Maybe you liked to explore nature, throw tea parties or build things. It could be anything – whatever fulfils that part of you that lives underneath all those external influences. The unique you that has a rich set of likes, qualities, experiences and dreams. And in a world that’s constantly pulling and pushing us in so many different directions, living from that place is now more important than ever.
That’s what HunkyDory is about. It’s about understanding yourself, taking that understanding and putting it into action – the goal being to live a more centred, purposeful and fulfilling life.

If you think We can be of any help, get in touch, and we can make that start together

Mr Bukowski also quoted that,”We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us”.
